worried!!!

posted 20th Jan
let me start of by saying i am 28 1/2 weeks and have a 2 vessel umbilical cord instead of 3. So Friday i went to L&D cause i was having really intense gas pain kinda on my upper belly so i went to make sure it was nothing serious... doctor said baby looked fine and was probably me just having some problem digesting my breakfast..however ever since Friday i feel like baby has either been lazy or decrease movements cause i haven't really felt him today or yesterday ....but i really hate going there....not cause their mean but cause all the time i go there it always nothing and baby is fine but i cant help but worry all the time   im always worried and hate it ..i just want to be able to know that hes ok and not stressed and he's healthy..anyways should i go and get checked even though i have felt him move just not as much as usual??

If youre really concerned go. If he's passing kick counts I'd try not to freak out.

I have a lazy baby, she's been like that since I have been able to feel her move..she'll kick maybe once an hour if that but she's fine, I went in to my OB and she said that my little girls heartbeat is even stronger than it was 3 weeks ago(I went in a couple days ago) and that she's growing right on track..

if you're really concerned give your doctor a call and see what they suggest..but the space in there is getting tighter, the baby could also just be losing room in there and that is making movement even less..

your doctor doesn't have a special number to call for medical emergencies?...my doctor has me call a special call center that will get in touch with her and that way she can call me back and then that way she can tell me if what is wrong is serious enough to go to the L&D

or just call the L&D and ask them if you should come in or not.

It's also normal for a baby to decrease in movement as it gets closer to term because it starts running out of room in there

BUT

I would also like to say that since you already have a pregnancy issue which can effect these things, pay close attention to your body and your baby. It'd be a shame if you brushed all of your feelings off because of these comments of reassurance and something actually was wrong.

Since it sounds like you already figured this out, you can ignore this. lol ... But I have long complicated pregnancies. Whenever I get worried, i go in and get checked, even if i think I'm being paranoid. Sometimes I am having contractions or something's going on, and sometimes there's nothing going on and I just 'wasted' everyone's time.

The lesson I've learned the hard way is that it's always worth going in. Since you have issues, it's justified. Dr's are there to make sure everything is ok anyway. It's not worth the hours of worry and stress. Plus if something is going on, the sooner they take of whatever it is, the better it is for the baby. Ignoring stuff is how little problems turn into big problems.
