I forgot the apple trick. I found out you can put lemon juice on them! It works great i think i have one that been in the fridge for a day and its still not brown. The guy that gave us that was a baker!

Oh, my SO is the same way, I know how you feel - he basically won't touch veggies and would rather just eat the meat and rice / pasta. I think he's realized that he's no longer 20 years old and his metabolism is catching up to him, so he's been more willing to change.

   Agree with everything!

I buy brown rice and things like beans in the plastic bags (not in cans, or pre-cooked.) and then I cook them in bulk, and freeze them to save me both time and money.

I think i need to save money, pay off some debt and then buy another freezer! I dont like to buy those premade meals because there is so much sodium in them! Do you buy fresh veggies then freeze them? If so is there any tricks i should know?

We buy bulk rice and beans, too - we buy one 17lbs bag of jasmine rice a month, usually - even eating it multiple days a week, it will generally last us more than a month and you can get it at wal mart. We have a decent quality rice cooker that never leaves the counter top, we use it ALL the time, it's also a veggie steamer - which I use a lot and I also use it to make babyfood when there are little ones.

I have a tiny kitchen, and a tiny fridge/freezer. It's amazing how you can make things fit when you work really hard. You don't need anything fancy, trust me.

Great job. I went today, too. I spent 75$ and loaded up on a lot of organic stuff, too.
