Is that your price range? I'd personally go with a my ride if I was gonna be using a convertible in place of an infant carrier.

As long as your baby fits in it properly when it is born then yes.

I'm wanting to stay in between $200-300, if I have to go over for safety I will. I am wanting a travel system with the infant car seat but would like a convertible car seat to keep in my SO's truck/

Hot dog thats a good budget. Totally go with a my ride 70 (i think thats what its called) or a diono rxt then. They have really good rfing limits and ffing harness limits.

I have the Alpha Omega Violet and to be honest, hate it! It doesn't seem to last as long as they try to crack em to be! DD is almost 2 and her harness is at highest slot.

I'm thinking of taking the advice of some of the other mom's I have spoke to and get a my ride!

I have heard not so good things about that car seat, very hard to install, not so great fit, and it cannot be used as a booster because of the way it lays the seatbelt on the child. I would definately get the myride over this one!!!

I had considered this one myself, but ultimately went with a Graco My Ride 65 because it also has really high safety reviews and it was dramatically less money in comparison. Cost doesn't always equal safety, IMO and since the my ride had such high safety ratings, I decided to try that instead.

I haven't actually USED it yet since I am not due until May, so it's still sitting in the box lol. From actually going in and handling the seats myself, though, I feel very comfortable with my decision.

I'm going with diono this time around because er got the my ride when dd was 2 last time. And it reclined so much that she didn't really like it as an older rfer. But I would have totally used it for an infant if it didn't get in a wreck. It was soft and reclined a lot. I've never used a diono so idk how they'd be for an infant. But I don't plan on using it for an infant since I have a carrier still. But the alpha omega unless they've changed did not have as good of limits. We have to buy dd a new seat for my car because she maxed te ffing harness limits and I don't want her in a seat belt yet. She's 5.

I really am leaning towards this as well.

This. Plus the bottom harness slot is pretty high on the Alpha Omega Elite, so it may not fit a newb at all, because the straps need to come out at or below the shoulders for a correct fit.

The straps on the AOE twist really easily as well, which is a pain.

honestly I would get a diono or whatever they are called. They have an all in one too that you wouldn't ever have to buy another car seat with.

I was bummed when I figured out that the Nautilus only started at 20lbs (I believe), so I couldn't use it for an infant - I like that it turns into a backless booster.
