re: Castor Oil ?

I took it two days before my due date because my Dr recommended I try it. It did absolutely NOTHING for me. No jump start to labor, no bowel movements, no nothing. A week later I went into labor naturally, my water broke. Some times they just aren't ready, even when you are BEYOND ready lol  

I did it and it worked flawlessly. Sure I emptied my bowel but I wasn't smurffing my brains out for hours. I had quick easy deliveries with no problems. I would rather drink it then have pitocin anyday.

What did you dislike about pitocin? I had it, but I don't remember any negative side affects, other than my labor sped up so much I couldn't get an epidural in time. BUt I've heard many people say pitocin with a cringe?

Well, I don't do pain meds or an epidural. The pitocin made my contractions so intense and long. It wasn't letting my body do what it was supposed to do..it was forcing it before it was ready. Idk if I can precisely pinpoint what I hate about it but I know its something I never want to experience again.

Oh, it's hard to remember back that long ago, but I know they had to give it to me because my baby's heart rate was dropping and I wasn't dialating on my own I believe was the case. Well, I will keep that in mind for round 2, I hate needles, so anything to avoid those, I'm good!

My previous post about a c- section was because baby was breech but recently turned. She's bigger then average to the doctor was talking about inducing me, and I was asking about castor oil because I would rather do something a little more natural instead of drugs to make it happen. So.. nothing smells " Fishy".
