Thank you dear I really don't find it strange either. It's better than not liking my daughter's name. I rarely called her Hailey, never in public. Now I can't stop calling her Lottie

Question...
How are you going to tell your family/friends?
Are you announcing it or are you just going inform them when you see them kind of casually etc?
So interesting.

My son's name will be changing from Tobias Levi B to Tobias Levi Edmund R-B. Mostly because his father's a dink and can't leave anything alone
If you're happy with what you're doing then good for you!

Thanks. I have always loved the name Charlotte. SO and I have such different tastes that I just compromised way too much with Hailey. It Charlotte is a nice strong name that ages well and I'm very happy with it.

Exactly. I mean, it's not like she's a toddler who has been going around introducing herself to people as Hailey. You're not setting her up to be super confused.
I would hate saying a name I felt was wrong for my son for his whole life. Totally understandable. Some people are pressured into choosing family names they didn't actually want or a certain spelling they weren't too crazy about. If they can make the decision to switch it to something that they like/something that better suits the child while the kid is still an infant, I don't see the harm.

Exactly. She's not even a year yet. Every time I said Hailey, it felt wrong, so I stopped calling her that. I called her baby or junebug most of the time. Now I happily call her by name

Nicknames are cuter on babies anyway. I rarely call Liam by name. Seems like I come up with a new nickname each time, haha.

I fail to see why it's weird? Some people choose naes and then regret them - I wish I had changed my son's name when I had the chance, I don't care for it at all, I was bullied into using it and he's now 4 and I regret it.
OP - I am glad you found a name that suits her and that you are making the transition easily - Charlotte is a beautiful name and one that will grow with her into adulthood and Lottie is so cute!

I wonder what the judge is going to say when your "proper and reasonable"cause for changing her name is just that you changed your mind lol

I mostly call my son Bub and his name is Tobias lol. I usually only call him Toby around people who wouldn't know what "Bub" means.

I'm sure he will say okay. This isn't just a random decision. I'm not the first person in the world to change my baby's name. The judge won't care. She's not his baby, she's mine. My mom changed my name when I was 3 and the judge was fine with it. They aren't going to say no!

She's less than a year old, she won't have to go before a judge. I changed my son's middle name and last name and just had to fill out paperwork and send it in, and before a year old, it's free.

Thanks and Toby (Tobias) is an awesome name. It was on my boy list! I've lived it since Labyrinth.

Thank god. I called the court last week but I had to leave a message and they haven't gotten back to me. I'll just go in on Tuesday.
