What would be a good age to get my daughters ears pierced?

We were allowed to get them pierced when we asked for it... mum didnt expect me to want them done for my 3rd birthday and was really shocked when i asked lol!

I personally would do them within the 1st 4-6 months of life so they dont pull or play with them.. or i'd wait until they asked - most likely the later.

I have boys though do it doesnt matter

I believe it's her body her choice. I wouldn't put her through ANY pain for cosmetic reasons without her consent, ever

Hmm im not sure about how young you could get them done?..

Maybe wait until shes a bit older 4-6months or something so her immune system is stronger and can heal itself/fight off infection better.

6 weeks is really tiny, i'd be scared they'd get infected and cause her more pain or scar.

Yeah...that makes waaaaaayyy more sense now that I think about it....Idk where I heard that but it wasn't from a dr so i was already iffy about it lol. 4-6 months sounds good. She'll probably be more able to tell me when they're hurting her. Hand gesture or something of that nature.

When she asks. Make a fun mother/daughter day out of it. That's what my non and I did and ill always remember. Also I have noticed some older little girls who got their ears pierced as infants seem to have holes that are off centered, kwim? I don't know if its because infant ears are so tiny that its really hard for the piercer to center the earring, or if as the babes grow their earlobe changes shape. Either way I would wait. Dress her in pink if you want her to look like a girl lol.

Maybe see if you can get little tiny hoops or something as well once they heal, i hate sleeping with my studs in sometimes because they push into me head & kind of hurt.

Good luck!

Aww that is a cute idea! I can't wait for mommy/daughter days lol.
I'm glad i got some opinions before I jumped on it. Cuz i was 10 when i got mine done, my sis was in her teens, and my mom doesn't even have hers pierced so it's like...nobody knew a good time lol. But thanks!

Yea I was ten so I thought I was soon much more mature looking when I got them done. Lol that age was smack dab in the middle of my awkward phase.

And I can remember playing with my grandmas clip on earrings! I got such a kick out of it. And those stick on ones where you get like twenty pairs stuck to a piece of cardboard! Those were awesome , too.

Around here, it's 4 months up. I wouldn't do them until they've asked but that's me.

If you get her ears pierced, do NOT take her to somewhere where they use a gun like Claire's or the piercing stations in the mall. A lot of pediatricians will pierce infant ears.
