re: Ears!

posted 20th Jan
I got DD's done when she was 7 months. She cried for like a second and they healed perfectly.

Around 13-14 months old she started playing with them and losing all the backs. I was buying new earrings once a week. Then I finally decided to just take them out when she started ripping them out of her ears with every tantrum she threw.

DD did the same thing so she no longer has any and the holes closed up. I will take her again if she asks for it. She wants them done now but I think the pain would traumatize her.

I had my daughters ears pierced last month, she was 2 and a half months old. She cried for a second then was all smiles again. She never even fussed when I would clean them. They are all healed now ( 6 weeks later ), I'd recommend doing it early to anyone, they don't mess around with them so the risk of infection is lower. Just make sure to pierce them with gold, either 10 or 14 karat gold. I used white 14 karat gold for Charlotte's, paid a bit extra but definitely worth it!

It sucks. I was so sad to take them out. She looked so pretty with little diamond earrings.

I got DD done just before she turned 3 months. Cried for a moment pooped then went back to sleep. Healed fine.

They say to wait till there a little older only because as your baby grows the position of the earrings could move cause your LO is constantly growing.

So getting them done when they're like 2-3 years old as opposed to a few months old is better cause its less likely the end result will be off
