Worried about the amount he is eating..?

posted 20th Jan
My son is going to one in 2 weeks..

He has 3 formula bottles a day. one when he wakes up, one when he has a nap in the day and one when he goes to sleep at night.

But when it comes to food I dont know but lately one day he will eat all three of his meals no problem and then there are days like today were he has only eaten his breakfast and I try to feed him lunch and he will turn his head and then try to get out of his high chair..

So far today he has had two bottles, breakfast which was yogurt and banana, three chips a biscuit and his sippy cup that has water in it.

I don't think it is enough for him to eat and I dont know how to make him eat more if i try force him then he crys. Is he just really not hungry or is something else wrong?

I have a similar problem with my DD. Her doctor suggested getting a multivitamin or something called Prosobee (?) and it will increase her appetite. Otherwise during growth spurts or illness it is not unusual for their appetites to change and they will eat when they get hungry. I say call his doctor and see what they say but definitely dont try to force him to eat as this may lead to aspiration of food or possible choking.

Try giving him other foods. Or give him a variety and let him pick! If my son doesn't like what I make him I usually give him something I know he'll like and save the first meal for a later time. Also, they make drinks with lots of vitamins in them. Perfect for little ones who aren't eating   good luck mama! And whatever you do don't force him...it'll only make it worse!
