Ilias Jon is finally here!

At 11 am I started having very intense contractions. I had been having contractions every 4 minutes for weeks, so at first I didnt think anything about it. But then they started to get more and more and more painful so I started tracking them. Sure enough by 12 they were a minute apart and I had to focus to function so I told my husband it's time to go. We dropped off our oldest at a friends house and headed to the hospital. When they hooked me up to the monitors my contractions were off the charts and I was dilated to a 6. Then the nurse told me they had no labor rooms available and the doctors werent there yet.
I started crying. I knew my son was going to be born soon and i was terrified. My husband, being a medic and having spent several years as a fireman, could have delivered our son no problems so I dont know why i panicked but I did.
Luckily at about 1:45 a doctor showed up and checked me. I was at an 8 and he began prepping the triage room for delivery. I was begging for an epidural or stadol or something for the pain but there was no time. By the time they got the order in for some fentinol I was pushing and it was too late.
Pushing was awful. He got stuck at his ears with his cord wrapped three times around his neck. The nurses and doctor were telling me I had to get him out. His heart rate was going down and i had to get him out. Two pushes later his head was out and they got the cord off of his neck. One more push and he was here. A little blue and slimy but perfect.
I had a second degree tear which they stitches up without the numbing medication taking affect.
Both my boys were born in 3 hours but with my first I had the epidural and i have to say, if I have another I pray I have time for the epi. Ive read all these stories about how natural childbirth is amazing and empowering... it wasn't that way for me.
But regardless of the method my beautiful baby boy made his way into the world and i couldnt be more thankful. 8 pounds 14ounces of amazing
I love my boys.

He was 20 inches and his head and chest were the same size. The doctor said that's probably why I tore so bad, usually their heads are the biggest part.
