re: what logic

What others have said, drinking that early wouldn't have any effect on the potential fetus. I drink when my period is late all the time and I see nothing wrong with it. It's sad she keeps getting her hopes up though...she's probably not pregnant though if she's tried for 5 years with no success. Sounds like she needs to see a doctor for her fertility issues.

I knew a girl who didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 5-6 months along. She was a lesbian who had a one night stand with a man and it never even crossed her mind that she could be pregnant. She had been drinking and smoking weed that entire time. Her baby turned out to be perfectly healthy.

If I suspect pregnancy and I want to drink, I test. If it's negative, WOOHOO.

There are certain physiological things in early pregnancy that help to make sure the embryo isn't affected by choices made before the mother is aware she's pregnant.

In fact, my desire to drink on St. Patrick's Day 2010 led me to test to make sure I wasn't pregnant. Voila! #4.

I have been there and after suffering through infertility for years and being disappointed time and time and time again, it's not uncommon at all to begin thinking this way. Infertility puts your life on hold in so many ways and at some point you just have to start living your life again before you go crazy.

i've told her in the past to see a doc but it wasn't a priority. she tried saying it was her husband but deep down she knew better than that but doesn't want to believe it. i also think that deep down she knows she doesn't need a baby, at least not right now.
