Why do kids want to watch the same movies over and over
posted 20th Jan
And over again? We are having a late night family movie night, and they want to watch the same movie two times in a row! It is their choice tonight, so I guess I will just zonk out here on BG an make some more snacks.

My son is obsessed with Shrek (all of them, he doesn't care), 'Pongo' (101 Dalmations), Dumbo (or as he calls it, Choochoos), and 'puppies' (Homeward Bound 1 and 2)...trust me, I understand! I think it's something in the music, and that they can recognize the characters. Think of your favorite movie and how often you like to watch it...then just put it in a kid's perspective LOL. My son is 2, and I had to get him his own TV (one of those VCR combo deals) so that I don't have to watch the movies constantly - thank God VHS tapes are 3/$1 at the local thrift store!

U never watched the same movie over and over as a kid??
Me and my sister wore out *now and then*
We seen beauty and the beast in theaters over 10 times... lol
And when we got older, Friday

I can recite Shrek and Madagascar like nobodies business.
I actually like when she was addicted to Spirit. At least it was quiet and had good music hahahaha

LOL I *love* Beauty and the Beast!
And I've worn out 6 copies of The Little Mermaid, 3 of An American Tail, and 4 of the first Land Before Time XD

Lol I wore out movies up into my teens! Lion king, lilo and stitch, mulan...my little brothers do it and my and my sister also wore out tons of movies when we were itty bitty. I guess the movies are just awesome to kids and they love them a lot. I still have things I could watch over and over, although not many. Right now my son (2) isn't interested in movies but I know the time will come when he wants to watch the same one over and over again.

I sure I must have on occasion, but I really don't recall!
My kids, it seems, could watch any piece of crap on repeat though.

When she was about 3, my daughter was ADDICTED to Happy Feet. I would be stuck watching it over and over and over and OMG it was HORRIFIC!

I really enjoyed the Disney classics, rescuers and fern gully. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't see that type of quality in animated movies anymore!

Aladdin is my son's obsession. My daughter doesn't mind variety though.

I'm not a fan of most new animated movies any more because they are all freaking computer animated, they need to go back to drawing them!

My absolute favorite movies as a kid-

My kids just aren't as big on these as I was.

LOVE the Labyrinth. watched it regularly. once i hit about 9-10 i became OBSESSED with the Brat Pack movies. I'm hoping DD will be into Shirley Temple like i was as a child. at least i have a variety with her in them
