Ive never had a dog before so i worry so much lol i could only imagine how bad ill be when i have kids
but its going to be really hard for me on monday morning

also anyone else with dogs know if i should get him heartworm tested while i'm there? or microchipped? idk what to do

I would have him microchipped for sure. As far as heartworms, I was caught off guard when my dog was tested and came back positive. She had no symptoms at all, so the treatment was expensive and worse for her recovery (we had her fixed at the same time too). but we saved her life. We live in Texas and that was during the summer when mosquitos are really bad and heartworms are transmitted that way too. I would do it personally but I am not sure how expensive it is there.

Have him checked for everything while you're there, it can't hurt. Make sure his shots are up to date, and don't worry - I had my dog neutered when he was just a puppy, and he lived to be 11 years old (we had to put him down due to cancer and arthritis) and was very happy and active his entire life. Microchipping is something that only you can decide on, although I can tell you that a simple registration tag and a tag with your name and phone number on it can help as well - I've saved quite a few dogs, simply by calling the police station where the registration was recorded, or by calling the name on the tag of the dog. Usually only the SPCA will look for a microchip, so while it can be a good idea, it's not always financially prudent to do - and only you can decide where to go from there

Good luck, and let me tell you...after a few days, your puppy won't even know he's missing anything, and you're helping other dogs out by not allowing him to make babies that could be abandoned or abused <3

I think I will have him tested and microchipped its only ten dollars for microchips on monday and twenty for heartworms but i hear its better to treat early. He is a very hyper dog lol I dont think he is normal so i thought getting him fixed would help that but here lately he has been such a good boy ( i think he knows) lol so it makes me feel bad. but i know it can help in the long run.

Lol puppies are always more active - they start to calm down a bit more when they're older (mine was a Cocker Spaniel), as far as age it depends on the breed, he calmed around 2 years old, but still played quite frequently. My dog Bear (he's a basset/rottweiler mix) is now 3, and just as playful as he was when he was a puppy, I think it's the Rott in him lol. Good luck, and it sounds like you have everythign worked out, which means that the prevention will be worth it in the long run

Can't say as that I have, but if you do some research on them (google harrier activity levels), it will give you an idea

Ive been trying to lol apparently they are super crazy!! (known as a beagle on steroids) lol they are very rare tho so it makes me wonder if he is really one. the groomer at petsmart is the one who told me thats what he had to be lol ( i was originally told fiest terrier) but anyways he looks exactly like them and has all the charachteristics. so it makes me think he is full blooded rather than just mixed. He is the friendliest dog and the fastes!! there is a german shepard puppy in my neighborhood n they like to play but that german shepard couldnt even come close to keeping up with mine lol he was running circles around him!

Heartworm test YES!! The best thing you can do for you pet is test then put them on prevention.

However as someone who worked many years in the vet business microchips are a waste of money. Not all vets offices have the reader, most vets don't find lost dogs and most people who find lost dogs don't take them to the vets to get checked. If someone found your dog and kept it, took it to a vet and make it their own, that ver wouldn't check for a microchip. Your best bet for finding your dog if lost is a tag around his neck. That way if someone found him they could call you. Not to mention if someone in the neighborhood doesn't have a microchip reader.

True nd i feel weird about the whole fact they r injecting something in to him. They said it was about the size of a grain of rice but still. And then the woman told me that It doesnt locate the dog as i thought. I assumed if he went missing they could track him lol hes great about leaving his collar on so really I think that serves about the same.. Some people if they found him probably wouldnt take the time to figure out if he had a chip
