Is this normal ?

posted 19th Jan
After my last post, I scheduled and appt next week to find out where AF has gone, also I was told to wait another week so I'm trying to be patient. However, today me and my husband had sex for like 5 min(tmi) and i noticed afterwards that I was spotting a bit. It's not heavy, it doesn't show on a pad or anything.....you can barely see it when I wipe. Idk what my body is trying to do, hope it goes back to normal soon. Thank you & advice will be appreciated

Hmmm... I did have sex when I wasn't expecting my period and I bled a little....but it went away after a few hours. Everyone is different so I am not sure! If it doesn't go away then maybe it is your period but if it goes away after a little bit then maybe you should go and see whats going on!   Keep us posted!!

Well actually my period has been M I A for a little over a week now, but I've had negative urine test, and the doctors keep telling to wait until next week. Idk what to do.

How long has it been? When did you last take a pregnancy test?
Your cervix can easily get irritated during sex which can cause spotting at any point.

I am assuming it was negative? When was your period due?
Take another test before going in to the doctors.

There are women who ovulate late who don't get positive pregnancy tests until a week after their periods are due.

Also when you don't ovulate your period is generally late.

Mine was 18 days late one cycle for no other reason than what I can say I don't believe I ovulated that month. Then BAM waterfall, and she has been regular for the following 3 cycles.

I had the same issue with my son (I'm pregnant with my 2nd, a girl), and early in my pregnancy this time around. The first time I bled, it scared me, because it was a pool - but, turns out I had some kind of placenta issue - where the placenta wasn't attached fully to the wall of my uterus yet, and there was a pocket. The contractions (from orgasm) caused some to leak out, but now everything is fine. Talk to your OB if you need serious backup, but when I mentioned it during my nurse visit (around 13 weeks) that I had spotted a little bit the last time during sex, she said it was normal (as with the placenta thing, it happens quite often). As she put it, the cervix is VERY tender during pregnancy, and if you even tap it a bit (it happens after pelvic exams for the first checkup you have with your doc sometimes), it can cause some spotting. The nurse told me that if it happens, put a pad on and monitor it - if it doesn't soak the pad or last for more than a few hours, you're safe to go. If you start cramping or soak a pad within a few hours, then it's time to go to the ER (call your OB first of course). I also had spotting (I was on a no-sex limit during my son because of cramping every time I had sex) through the first 5 months of my son's pregnancy, so it could be normal occurrence for your body. Hope this helps!
