Hip pelvis pain plus loss of Mucous plug...

posted 19th Jan
Just curious if anybody has had terrible pain in hips and pelvis and lost their mucous plug the same day?! I woke up last night with bad pain. Could hardly walk or move in bed. Went to take a bath this afternoon and had to pee and when I looked in the toilet, there was a glob of white snotty substance sliding down the toilet. Anybody think it could be labor possibly? I will be 38 weeks Monday. My uterus is measuring 43 weeks and baby is measuring a few days past 38 weeks. Also, early in pregnancy they changed my due date by 3 full weeks and my original due date was the 16th... I am GD and doc wants to induce at 39 weeks if I don't go into labor. Not sure if I am dilated or effaced yet tho..

could be labor bc of the hip pelvis pain.. id be more convinced if there was any blood included in the mucous. just try walking around and see if you start cramping more or having more of that pain

No blood   I don't even remember if I lost my plug with my daughter or if I even knew to look for it. My mom asked me if I was sure I was not in labor. Technically I have no idea what its like. When I went to be induced, they were hooking me up to the monitors and the one nurse asked the other if she felt that. I was like what? and they are like you are having contractions. I was like, oh, that's what those are? lol I have been crampy continuously since Dec 30th. Ended up with a yeast infection took a pill and they said it would all go away. Well, the crampy and low back pain remains. Just one day for about 45 min it was different and I could time it. I cannot walk very good right now but hoping I can tomorrow. I rocked, bounced on my pregnancy ball for about an hour It seemed to help. I hate the pain but if this is me going into labor on my own I am all for it!

is it like a menstrual cramp at all?

The cramping is menstrual like cramping that wont go away. I feel as if I will start my period any minute. I told my doc about it and she never says anything. The nurse said chances are its just my body preparing for labor. she mentioned practice or early labor. Going on 3 weeks tomorrow. It does not go away no matter what I do. It gets a bit intense but nothing I can time except that one day. They would sometimes come at 2 min and last 40 some seconds then 4 min would pass and last for 20 sec. When I took my daughter to school, they crapped out and went back to consistent. At my 36 week check I was not effaced nor dilated. I hope if I do not go into labor, by Friday something is happening.

the timing of them sounds like bh, but the fact that it feels menstrual sounds like labor. my doctor said it could be bc of being too active. all you can do is wait i guess.. or go in to get monitored at L&D, i know with my first i did that for about 3 weeks and i was so sore by the time they went to induce me that i needed pain meds before they even started the induction

When they did a pelvic exam for my Yeast infection they put me on the monitor and didnt say anything about contractions. They were almost concerned cuz the little man was not moving much that time. But, they let me go. I would just rather go on my own. Terrified of a failed induction like my last. This doc seems more patient, but when it comes down to it, I am not sure if she will be or not. I just want to avoid a repeat C. It was horrible.

I've had quite a bit of hip and pelvis pain.. I'm 39 weeks and 2 days, and there are times that I can't stand up anymore because my hips hurt in such a weird way. I also lost my mucous plug a week and a half ago after a pelvic exam.. my little man's still holding on tight in there though lol. It's probably just your body preparing for the big day, I know it's a pain in the butt.

A lot more pressure/cramps going on and changing my position is not making them go away. Really nothing to time as they are a consistent pain/pressure. It is so frustrating.   Every day I hope this is it but everyday they go away and I start all over the next day. :sigh: I really do feel that my body is actually doing something good unlike with my daughter when it was a slow go that ended in an impatient doctor forcing me into a C. I am sure his weight is helping and plus he is wayyy low and my daughter was never that low that I remember..
