re: So, tell me again how owning guns reduces gun violence...

gun laws don't prevent people from getting guns. there's no reason to outlaw them because criminals will still get them..and murder is already illegal...one new law will not prevent someone from killing someone else if they want to kill someone.

The NRA are a bunch of fools who only care about the size of their pockets.

They became a joke to me when they started blaming the whole video game culture. Load of horse smurf.

I agree, none of them were deliberate or violent. These people just seem like they are uneducated on the saftey aspects of handeling a firearm.

Would you rob someone that you knew has a gun, or someone you know doesnt have a gun. You would go for the easy target. Point being if everyone was armed then there wouldnt be easy targets.

Every time there is a violent shooting or a crime...this is not either of those so I'm not understanding why you're trying to draw comparisons or even trying to make a point, honestly.

If you look at other countries who don't have guns, i don't think that's true?

That's because the NRA makes smurfloads of money by convincing people that they are going to be the victim of violent crime if they are not armed to the teeth. The NRA's concern is not to make sure that the world is a decent place, it's to make sure that their money keeps flowing in. And it sure does, because it doesn't take much to convince some people. All these mass shooting conspiracies are made and distributed with the intention to send people into a panic over the 2nd Amendment. "Boogety boo, the government's trying to take all your guns away!" Of course the government isn't. How in the world would that benefit the government?!? The gun market has gone crazy over the past month, prices and demand are both way up and the gun manufacturers and sellers are getting rich...and the more money they make, the more money they have to influence policy and public opinion. So they keep it coming.

It's disgusting.

Yes, these were not intentional acts of violence. But, it is pointing out that guns in the hands of people who don't know what they are doing are dangerous.

The NRA scares people into believing that the fact that they own a gun makes them less of a target. Which is not true.

When no one has guns there may be less robbing in the first place? if neither party has a gun then there it removes the perceived need for ordinary people to have them.
I don't practically see how your country could get rid of all the guns though, the vicious cycle is already too busy at work.
I'm also curious about the possible effects of the government having gun power and the citizens not.

The NRA is out for money, they are not the concern. You called an accident gun violence which is your first mistake. The truth is, limitation shouldn't be the answer. They should punish harsher for illegal weapons, not let people pass state lines with weapons without being charged thoroughly, and for every person eligible and able to have a firearm after security clearance of course should have to take gun safety classes. three strikes your out policy, caught with an illegal gun ten years in prison, use the weapon in a crime 20 years in prison, life for the rest. You crack down on the illegals and make that a priority you would cut some gun violence. Taking it out of my home when I live in a less than desirable area where gun violence is common due to ILLEGAL guns, I can't protect myself or my family.

I never called an accident gun violence. I never said these were intentional acts.

As I said in a previous post, it was pointing out that guns in the hands of those that are uneducated, and untrained are dangerous....accidental shooting or not.

untrained dangerous, not violent. Violent would be intentional.
