Baby shower for #2?

i know this topic has been posted thousands of times....I just need some opinions directed my way....

So baby #2 is another girl (YAY  ) and she's due the first week of June.....my daughter is an October baby, so everything I saved for her that is newb-6 months is mostly winter things....would it be appropriate to have another baby shower for different season babies even though we're having another girl?

I've always been one to say "every baby and every pregnancy should have a celebration!" and DH and I have so many new and old friends and more available family that we'd love to celebrate with this time around....I'm so stuck.

no. at least I wuoldn't. I have 2 boys and 2 girls. I did have 2 showers, but one was for my oldest (a boy) and the other was for my 3rd (a girl) my second and 4th babies just used whatever their older siblings used... my SIL had her 4th baby shower today, and I thought that was tacky...

I had one, but it was thrown for me.

I mean, it it's a good idea for you and you think others will want to celebrate, why not?

My family says no. But work is throwing me one whether I like it or not. Which I'm excited!

I personally wouldn't throw it...I had a shower for #2 but MIL threw it, and I was having a different gender. She's also DH's first child, so his family was super excited. I wasn't going to tell her no if she wanted to throw me one, obviously, but I wouldn't have planned it myself. If you want to celebrate...you could do a meet the baby party after baby is born, but I would tell people that you don't expect gifts.

I know plenty of people that have 2 baby showers but I would only have a 2nd one if you were having the other gender.

My fam threw me a 2nd... because it was my husbands 1sr baby, so it was more for the experience, and were latin, they love any excuse to party lol

We're not throwing it...my best friend asked me to get together a guest list because she'd like to throw us a jack & jill shower....my biggest dilemma I guess is that half of the list is people we invited to my first shower and I'm just wondering if they'd be like "Seriously? another shower for another girl?"

Its kind of split around here, some people have two, some think it's silly.

I'll be having my 3rd baby shower! I feel every baby should be celebrated. It will be a small one with close friends & family. I'm calling it a baby sprinkle!   since my last pregnancy was a boy & we're having another boy this time around I don't need any large items just diapers & that type of thing!  

I'm having another shower, and i'm throwing it myself, AND I'm expecting to get most of the necessities at it  

Some think it's tacky on here but that's just how it's done in my family.

Oh well if someone else is throwing it I say go ahead!

Personally I don't see anything wrong with it, I just wouldn't have because I would be afraid other people would think it was tacky. But if you're not the one throwing it I think it's fine.
