D&D Plum Island

So Plum Island Animal Disease Center is moving from an island to Kansas.. Which is essentially in the middle of America, by farm lands, etc. What do you think about this? It doesn't make sense.

I know they've had issues with things almost escaping before, etc.. which was the benefit to being on an island...

Ha ha, I don't know, but this made me think of Silence of the Lambs.

Was it approved? The move?

Maybe they're doing it because there are places in Kansas that will give you land for free if you built there.

Kansas is soooo barren. I've never lived anywhere where there was more nothing-ness.

Well, there is huge risks in doing this. It's housing animals with deadly diseases. Kansas has lots of livestock. And, lots of tornadoes. The what if's are huge.
