prelabor

im due march 9th but currently went into prelabor..been in the hospital for 10 days but now about to go home on bed rest, dr says i could have baby girl in 3 weeks..im super excited but still nervouse ! this is my first baby.. any advise ?about bein a first parent? or going into early labor? please and thanks

I wouldn't be excited for my child to spend time in NICU.

No no ull b grand Hun as long as ur over 35 weeks Hun and bub has some weight she shud b grand a friend of mine gave birth at 33 weeks and baby only stayed in nicu fr 5 days

I've been on both total and modified bed rest since early onset labor at week 24 and it is not fun. I am really anxious about the baby being born, but that being said, I would do anything in my power to keep her in as long as possible. Babies' brains develop a lot between week 36 and 39. Did your doctor put you on Procardia? Are you getting weekly monitoring for amniotic fluid and contractions? Are you drinking lots of water and keeping to the restrictions? I have been hospitalized twice for early labor and it's been really tough, esp since I have a 20 month old and a 5 year old. But like Allure said, early delivery can result in baby staying in NICU for a week or two which would be far worse. It would really cramp baby bonding time and make breast-feeding impossible if that's your plan. If I were you, I would try to focus on what's best for baby, which is staying in the womb as long as possible!
