re: What are you going to do with tax returns?

posted 19th Jan
We are going to buy our girls new beds and bedding, pay some money back to my FIL since he paid for a new engine in our car, try to pay off that car so we will only have one car note. Put the majority into savings. We dont really have any debt besides our cars and owing my FIL.

Put some towards a trade in for a minivan, probably get a mattress for the guest room since it'll be sharing with the nursery and I'll have to sleep in there a lot, and hopefully have enough for a beater car to get DH back and forth to work.

the big things will be a big payment on the SUV and doing a pay out for our car insurance for the rest of the year. don't know how much we will be getting back this year, so those are our only plans so far. SO will be claiming DD and myself and head of household, so he'll be getting back quite a bit, we just don't know exactly how much yet.

Thats awesome, we bought a sleep number 2 years ago and I love it! It was what we purchased with our tax return then!

We're fixing our car up a little, getting a king bed, buy some stuff for the kitchen, paying for our stuff to be shipped here from TX, buying a few things for the house, paying for the tags for our car and buying some new clothes. We're getting $7,300

That's about what we get every year, but DH got a raise last year and we had DD, so hopefully a bit more lol. We usually have all this stuff planned for it, not this year.. which is good, I suppose. We'll have it just in case.

Yep. After this we'll never buy brand new again, and won't unless we can pay cash. I look forward to being debt free (except a mortgage) for the rest of our lives.

We're expecting a couple grand back. The car I plan to get is a salvaged title that has been fixed up and sold very cheap. My dad got a 2005 Ford Focus for $2,500 and she runs like a beauty.
