SO recently proposed to me. But not like your everyday down on one knee kind of proposal, but just out in the open and says "will you marry me?"

I said yes. I was so happy lol.

And everyone keeps on asking where is the ring. I tell them moneys tight right now with a sick baby and all. They tell me oh its not real and smurf like that because I dont have an engage ment ring. I mean he's letting me pick it out and all, and his.

Now, the QUESTION.
**Would you be upset if SO didn't propose to you with a ring in a box?

No because technically DH did, he let me pick out my ring but i didn't get it until like a month or 2 later.

You're getting one eventually, I wouldn't be upset.

Wedding bands come at the wedding. Engagement ring before.

Anyway, hubby proposed w.out a ring and we went the next day and got one. Not exactly my ideal proposal but whatever lol. A ring doesnt make an engagement, it is thought behind it.

Nope. My husband proposed to me in a letter from basic training. He got me a ring when he got home a few days before we got married. I wouldn't have it any other way!!

No, a proposal (to me, anyway) is about the meaning behind it, not the ring. He wants to marry my crazy ass? Cool, don't need a ring right then and there, lol. I don't like rings, anyway.

Aaron proposed to me without a ring.

We just went a few days later, and picked one out together.

We were young and he proposed with no ring. When we got married I got my wedding band and a year later he suprised me with a beautiful engagement ring. I honestly forgot I didnt have one it was great just being married to him. He kept telling me how sorry he was that it took hin so long to give me one. I love the man not the ring  

SO didn't propose with a ring, he did it with his dog tags in private right after he came home from deployment. I wear those instead of a ring right now. Eventually I may get one but I'm actually quite happy with the dog tags  

No. That's silly to me. Some people can't afford rings right off, it's not a big deal.

DH and I just got rings Feb last year and we had been married 2 years already.
