No... I'm very greatful and I said I was lucky, and told op that she is very lucky also,

I actually laughed and layed back down, and waited for them to get there to see what it was...

That's why I told OP she just has to get over it people who do things like that just do it... it dosnt occur to them what u want... they think *oh I'm going to buy this fro so and so and they are going to love it*

They bought you gifts for your unborn child, they really do sound awful.

Really, dude. If you don't like it, exchange it or give it back. Simple. No need to fuss and whine about it.

I guess I was as understanding as I was simply because I have been through a similar situation. I can see why everyone has their panties in a bunch though too. See My MOTHER... as in my blood, she didn't do a damn thing for my son or I. We were homeless for a while after my ex-husband left us, and she told me off when I asked to stay with her. My baby shower consisted of my grandmother, aunt and best friend. All gifts were garage sale stuff and mismatched. Of course as a first time mom you want only the best for your baby, but we were dirt poor and my family wasn't in a position to help. His family thought I intended to get knocked up (i didn't btw) and so they didn't help a bit, even though they were well off. They tried to get me to abort.... SMH. I guess when you said you had awful inlaws I kind of related.

And since you are new to this site, I will tell you this, if it's a VENT, put "VENT" in the subject line, and be sure to elaborate a little more. It can get messy if you don't

Honestly? I'm glad it happened in a way. It made me a much stronger person andI have learned so much from those experiences. My mother is no longer a part of my life. I chose to remove her presence because she was toxic and poisoning my son's mind about my new husband. AND, now I throughly appreciate the AWESOME in laws I have now. My MIL and SIL are such a blessing to me. They are putting on my baby shower and have been there and supported us every step of the way. They are elated to have both me and my son in the family, and they treat my son as their own. They have already purchased some baby clothes for us. We already bought the crib, mattress and carseat (the things I was most picky about) and they said they would buy the rest, just told me to register for what I wanted. See, they know we are trying to buy a house and they are trying to help as much as possible. And my SIL is gettig married like 3 weeks before I'm due so my MIL & FIL are just helping us all out. They even downsized their house to help get their kids a solid financial footing. I am BEYOND blessed. My husband's family is very traditional. the kids don't move out until the wedding, and we waited til we were married to even have sex. Old fashioned, but worth it. I think that is why they are helping so much. They want the best or us

Sorry that is so long, I must be in a super chatty mood :p

My mil called my husband talking smurf the day of our shower saying she knew he was off from work and was upset he didn't come over her house, then played dumb that she didn't know we were having a shower that day when we bought the invitation to her house and told her 2 days before, showed up 3 hours late handed me 20.00 bucks and said it would have been more if she knew about it

I'm just repeating pretty much what everyone else has said... you're an ungrateful brat. And your husband was right... you are being stupid. Just because you registered for something does't mean people have to purchase those things. If you want those things you should buy them yourself and not even ask people to buy anything if you're going to be so uptight.

Right?

My ex mil used to critique everything I did, nothing i cooked was good enough, nothing I cleaned was clean enough. She'd feed my child things I asked her not to and then lie about it. Then she took my kids around their dad (who they are ordered by court not to see) and lied about it.

My ex-FIL gave my daughter enough beer to get her drunk when she was 18mos old... among other things.

I wish they had just bought me things I hadn't asked for/ wanted. LOL!

Wow... my grandpa used to let the dog drink beer... they would just fall asleep tho lol

My mil & sil are mad at me because I didn't let my husband buy them a house... because I wanted him to buy us a house... they wanted him to buy 2 houses in a cheap area, so they could be close to my kids

Yeah, they are awful... buying you brand new items... I had to use USED ITEMS. Nothing I had did I imagine myself having but you know what, it worked, and they weren't even used for that long. Try being grateful.
