My Crazy Labor story

posted 19th Jan
Okay it may just be crazy to me, but definantly not the average labor story. I know this is almost 4 months too late but I didn't have a computer at the time so I'm sharing it now

September 21st I wake up at 4am. Cramping, but not excrutiating(sp?) so I decide to read a book while I'm timing contractions. Mind you, I was induced with my first two children so I didn't know what it was like to go into labor naturally. So I wait an hour and can see they are consistently 5-7 minutes apart. So I start to pack my bags and wake up DH. We have two other children and nobody to really watch them for us, so we had decided beforehand that if I went naturally we would call two good friends of ours to stay in the waiting room with them while I was giving birth. It's 5:30 am and I was in labor for over 10 hours with both my other kids. So we decided he would drop me off at the hospital and I was call him once I get to 4 centimeters. No rush right? So he drops me off at the door and drives off to go take the kids back home to get a bitmore sleep. We only have one phone between the 2 of us so he took it with him and I planned to call from the hospital room phone. I get to L&D, they check my cervix, and tell me I'm already 6cm! So I start to freak out and pick up the phone to call DH, and the hospital recording says it doesn't make long distance calls! What?! We live not but mayyybe 15 minutes from the hospital, idk how that qualifies as long distance??? Anyway I am freaking out and a nurse lets me use her cell, so I call, and no answer. I leave an urgent message, and he calls the hospital within 5 minutes. He said he just put the kids back in bed so I told him to get them back up and get to the hospital ASAP because I was going quicker than we expected. He says okay. Right when we get off the phone, they check my cervix again (by now its about 6:30am), and tell me I'm dilated to an 8. Immeadiatly I start begging for an epidural and they tell me it's too late. (I had a epidural with my first two and never intened on giving birth unmedicaided). So I'm REALLY freaking out now. DH is barely getting the kids dressed and we had nobody to watch the kids even if he did make it in time. Our friends were not answering their phone. I call DH at about 7 when I'm told I'm 9cm, and he says he's on the way. 15 minutes later I give birth to Zoey Lynn Dellolio. With no family. And no medication. THAT was quite the experience. I'm glad it happened now though because at least I can say I gave birth naturally, even if it wasn't by choice, lol.

DH got there about 5 minutes later and was like "You had her already?!"

Glad to hear things turn out okay in the end.

I know with my sisters we all were there except for one. We were in the hospital on the ground floor heading for L&D when my sister gave birth to her third child. We all felt horrible for being late. However we made it on time for the other 5.

He wasn't as upset as I was lol. But afterwards I was okay about it, at the time I was upset lol. He was there for our sons birth, my first DD is not his. So I would hae liked him to be present for the birth of his biological daughter but oh well lol.

Terribly! Lol. I was so mad they wouldn't give me the epidural, haha. The contractions were horrible, the actually pushing her out was wonderful. It didn't hurt and it just felt like a big relief that she was out and the contractions were over. Which was suprising because I've always heard the crowning and pushing out hurt the worst but that was not my experience

Congrats! I can't imagine having to have a natural birth if I hadn't had time to prepare myself! You're a boss, lol

I wouldve been flippin out if DH wasnt there. When they had me set up for my c-section with my second the nurses were talking and told me "We will start when the DR gets in here" She walks in not even 5 mins later and DH still isnt in the OR and Im freakin out begging them to wait on him, thank God they did. Otherwise Id been so upset.

Oh no! At least my DH was there for our son. My DH wasn't rushing like he should have, BUT, the nurses also informed me the other children wouldn't be allowed in the room while I was giving birth... so even if he had made it in time, he would have had to sit in the waiting room until after she was born anyway. But it freakin sucks to give birth with no type of family or friends there for you. Thankfully my nurses were ANGELS, they were so supportive and took DH's place and held my hand the whole way through and were SO nice and caring. So that helped but still doesn't replace the father of your children.
