When was CD1?

This might be a little long. Bear with me. I started what I thought was my period on 11/24/12. Heavy flow normal length. So we proceeded with an HSG and exploratory endoscopy to diagnose and treat Endo on 11/30/2012. About 2 weeks post surgery I had still been spotting, sometimes heavy. On 12/10/2012 I went to the ER with extreme pain around my right ovary up through my right kidney. At the ER they discovered I was pregnant, though my husband and I had not had sex since a few days before my surgery. Jump ahead, the pregnancy never progressed and they said it was a possible ectopic and so I recieved a shot of methotrexate on 12/17/2012. Still spotting at this time. I began having a ful flow again on 12/26/2012 which tapered of about 2 days later. So which of these days do I count as CD1 since I never actually stopped bleeding between? When should I consider taking a test? This was my second failed pregnancy so early detection is crucial.

And I should also mention that I am having some symptoms but my body has fooled me plenty of times in the past year so I dont put too much emphasis on them.
