how long after

posted 19th Jan
Your contractions got unbearable did they regulate?? I have a pretty high pain tolerance but these hurt to the point that I'm doubling over crying, I'm not supposed to go back to the hospital until they're 3-4 minutes apart but they're not regulating. I'm so frustrated and in so much pain. Any words of advice because I can't take much more of this

Mine were always regular from the very first contraction. How far apart are your contractions on average?

I have heard of some women's contraction never regulating, maybe try rocking on an excersize ball if you have one. Try to open up your pelvis and see if that helps things along.

They were all over the place, then I posted this and started timing and the last 5 have been 3-4 minutes. But they told me it should happen for an hour or 2. I've never felt anything this painful ever in my life. I said to my boyfriend earlier that I don't know how women go through this willingly more than once lol. I wasn't dilating before though so I'm not sure what to do.

Mine never regulated   they were all over the place + some were horribly long + lasted a few minutes, some were brutal but only about 30 seconds. I might get 2 within 5 minutes then none again for 10-15 mins grrr it was maddening!!! I was kept in though + not allowed go home again as my baby was posterior + I wasn't dilating either. Hope they regulate soon for you mama so you can go in!

Sorry I also meant to add that walking helped me, also squatting + rocking my hips. I never tried a birthing ball but if you have 1 it might be worth trying that too.

Sometimes they never do. Id go back in and tell them your staying and they can suck it. I waited and ended up getting there at 8cm dilation and waiting through admission was horrible.

I tried walking and going on my hand and knees and rocking it kind of makes them more painful. I might just go back anyways because this is beyond brutal. Who knows maybe I'm dilating now. I can't even talk through these holy hell.

i would phone your midwife or hospital hun as not every labor is text book some peoples are never regular, you may find you end up having baby at home. id ask to go in so they can give you some pain relief if you feel you need it nd check your progress just tell them your struggling to time them then they will check good luck xx

Thankfully here pregnant women don't have to wait. You get admitted asap and taken to L&D. I'm thinking of going back because my hour at 3-4 minutes of unbearable contractions is almost up.

Yup same here! My mother came with me when I went into be checked + the midwife just said, yep she's staying + asked her to go admissions + tell them I was being admitted. We go straight to the labour ward here when pregnant no matter what the issue is. They take it from there then. How far away is your hospital? I live up the hill behind my local lol. But yea I think you should go in now + get some kind of pain relief.

3 days. With each kid I had to have a "push" for them to be regular.
