Yummy treats. *help

How do you properly melt chocolate? I tried it once to make chocolate covered strawberries and I ended up burning it and it tasted horrible.

I saw these and want to make them for DD's birthday party. It says you cover it with white chocolate but I don't know howww.   Help?

Also, could you use the same chocolate for cake pops? Or do you use frosting for cake pops?

I desperately want to know how to melt white chocolate properly. I used my home made double boiler method, and the microwave. Both methods made the chocolate harden back up in little chunks or burn. I want to make something like this for SO because he adores the white chocolate covered Oreos they only have here around the holidays.

Do you do melting chips or chocolate candy? I think using melting chips like from a craft store would solve your problem.

Use Wilton candy melts for those and just heat slowly in the microwave until melted. After you dip them they will set quickly in the fridge.

I always boil a pan of water and sit my bowl of chocolate on it. Stir really well. I've never had a problem as long as it doesn't come in direct contact with the heat.

OP if you use the microwave method do 20 second intervals then stir the chocolate. Another 20 seconds and stir until it is the consistency you want.

I never knew you used chocolate on cake pops. I thought it was regular frosting until I realized it's hard to get regular frosting so smooth lol.

I do it the lazy way. Lol I use hersheys melting chips and put them in a bowl with about a tbsp of vegetable oil (for a decent amount of chocolate) and then put the bowl in the microwave and set it to defrost for 30 seconds. I stir it, and keep doing 30 second intervals on defrost til melted completely. It has worked great every time.
