Alternative Medicine to Treat Endo?

posted 18th Jan
Anyone ever used an alternative medicines doctor to treat their female issues? I have Endometriosis, pelvic congestion, PCOS, uterine fibroids every few years, issues with my breasts that have to be watched for possible cancer development and I go to my GYN to have precancerous cells removed from my cervix every 3 months. My chances of cervical cancer are very high (80%) with all of my miscarriages, overall medical history and family medical history, so I will be keeping up with my regular gyn. Basically I am looking for alternative options for relief from severe pain associated with all of my pelvic conditions. I would love to hear your experiences, both good and bad. Thank you!

By alternative medicine, are you talking about cannabis?
Marijuana is great for pain relief, and its proven to help prevent cancer cells from forming.

Honestly, I had the surgery once and after having the twins, getting pregnant with my son I went on B/C until my Dr finally agreed to take my uterus. I am of the age where I can say I don't need to be getting pregnant anymore (30+) and I have a health condition that helped make that decision. With all the miscarriages, pain ect... The only relief I got was either being pregnant, nursing or on birth control until now.

I wish I had a better answer. Good Luck

I have endo as well- had fibroid tumor once- birth control pills are the only thing that keeps my endo from hurting- ither than that if you are done having kids you can remove your uterus and cervix..

You sound like me! I have changed to a 100% vegan diet and I take grape seed oil everyday and my life has changed dramatically. I feel better than I did while pregnant and nursing.

Pregnancy helped me, nursing didn't. I don't want anymore children, we've always said one and adopt the rest. NO doctor will give me a hysto around here, I have seen many of them and BEGGED over the years. I am tempted to go to my friend's doctor in another state. She has the same issues and he gave her a hysto. She has had NO problems since. She uses Biodentical hormone replacement therapy and even her immune system has improved. I have controlled it mostly with diet, but it is destroying my body. I just want to be healthy again. I will look into the grape seed oil. I would love more information on that, so I am going to message you ILOVEWINE.

Thank you all for your feedback.

How old are you? I know here that they will if your case is strong enough.

Almost 26. No one will help me I know. They are too greedy. Everyone (Doctors) I've seen wants me to have another baby. I regret having my daughter (I adore her) because I often have moments where all I can do is watch a movie with her and cuddle, maybe have a tea party, but I can't chase her in the yard and play because I am struggling to move.   I just want to be normal.

They first started talking to me about it when I was 29. I had my girls at 29, my son at 31 and just got the hyst at 34. Ask them about the mesh lining. See if they will at least entertain that idea.

They can't force you to have another baby if you don't want one. That is not their choice.

I have an appointment tomorrow. I had to go to the ER last night because I felt a ripping pain when I lifted my daughter. I have been telling my doctor for a year that I can feel something large where my ovary should be. He NEVER would check it. Last night they did an ultrasound and my ovary is full or and covered in large cysts and odd tissue. I am hoping this forces him to do it. I need relief. I am to the point where if I did not have my daughter I would take my own life. I just can't take it anymore. 14yrs is long enough.

All this female trouble runs in my family, every woman except my mom and one cousin has had this. NONE of them got relief until they had a hysto. Their immune systems even improved. Same with my friend E. She said she is a whole new woman. It's rough.

Seriously, I feel better now that it is gone. I mean, I don't have the shot anymore and I am still bleeding from the proceedure (just had it done jan 3) but, for the most part I have no issues to speak of. I will continue to ovulate because they left my ovaries. I am young enough that they don't want to deal with the hormone issues. I don't respond well to them. I get migraines from syntethic hormones. I hope they take you seriously and allow you to make a decision for yourself already!!!

Yeah me too. I only have the one ovary, so it would be a total. Since I have to have pre cancerous cells removed from my cervix they would take that and part of the vagina as well. IF he does the things he is supposed to. My husband just found out one of his students is to son of a OB/GYN, so DH is going to see where he works and see if maybe he will have some compassion. Normally, we would never go to a students father, but I am desperate. The idea of a back alley "surgeon" sounds better than trying to cope.
