Yeah I had been in labor for 36 hours when I finally had my csection and had been up for almost 48 hours with no food/drinks. I was completely exhausted I actually fell asleep while they were sewing me back up!! But I wish I could have gotten the chance to have skin to skin there and breastfeed there. By the time I got to my room about an hour and 15 minutes after his birth - like 1:45 am they immediately shoved him onto my boobs lol I would have even loved for him to be in recovery with me

That was my repeat. My emergency one was way different and very traumatizing. And the nurses tried to tell me no and do their thing. But I knew my rights and my OB was supportive. I was a real bitch to be honest.

Well a Nurse is SUPPOSE to advocate for their patients meaning honor THEIR wishes and do what is in the best interest for their patient. That's what makes me mad! Some nurses just get set in their own ways and don't want to do what their patient wishes for because it may be a hassel for them :-/ Its sad! I am hoping to make a difference in my future patients lives by supporting them to the most. I don't ever want a woman to feel like they were cheated out of a wonderful, life changing experience. I just get so mad about this lol it's horrible.

Im obsessed with researching things like this and it makes me want to have a homebirth more and more and encourage other women to too! Or have a midwife and use a birthing center.

Yep that's pretty much what happened with me. lol There was no planning what was happening with that c-section. One second I was in labor, the next i was being wheeled down the hallways at full speed with a nurses hand up my vagina to keep pressure off of the baby's head. His heartrate was about 40 when they got him out. Fortunately everyone was fine. He just had major cone head.

My hospital doesn't do one. If we can afford it, I'm willing to drive two hours away just so Ican have my natural water birth that I've always wanted.

Aw I'm sorry your hospital doesn't allow it! I would say it would be worth the drive if you can afford it.. My hospital allows them but I am looking into a birthing center or a midwife. I don't want any kind of interventions, I don't want to be continuously monitored or anything like that.

I want a water birth too! My hospital allows laboring in the tub but not birthing in them :-/

I'm not even pregnant yet and I am reading/researching and talking to everyone I can about all of my options and everything that can happen. I am determined to have the labor/birth that I want while keeping me and my baby safe. Good luck with everything!! Just do your research and educate your self and trust your body and do what you feel is best for you and your family!
