I know a girl who got it done right after birth, but you don't have to.
My son is 2 years old lol. All they did was make those two incisions (Or at least those are the only ones I've spotted thus far) and blow my stomach up with gas so they could see, burned my fallopian tubes, deflate, and I was done.

Maybe so. My friend took DH to pick up some meds for me right now and I'm a wee bit light headed from the percocet, so I'm going to wait for him to get home lol.
LO is being a dream though. He didn't nap today so I was able to put him down when DH had to leave for a nap and he's been asleep ever since. He's hard to run down, very hyper, so this is great.

I got my tubal ligation done May of 2011, I don't regret it at all. Many people told me I was too young, I'll be 27 next month, we had two kids, a boy & girl and I felt like even though I'd love to keep having babies, the reality was we couldn't afford anymore....
My recovery was a lot better than I expected, they gave me tylenol 3, and although I couldn't lift anything too heavy, I healed up pretty fast...
Now & then I feel a bit sad, cause I loved pregnancy for the most part, and sometimes wish I could have another, but overall, I'm very happy with it.

They can do it right after, if you have c-section I believe it's easier cause you're already opened up... I had two very small incisions, one inside my belly button and the other just above my pubic bone.

What do you mean "lose your womanness" lol!? I still feel the same, my periods are a little more intense some months, and I'm more emotional at that time of month, but my doctor said it's because I was on birth control and now I'm not.... overall, it was a very easy/fast procedure, I got to the hospital at 6am and was out by 12pm, i was sore for a few days but the meds helped a lot for that! I was up moving around & doing little chores the day I came home, i just tried not to overdue it.... If you have any questions Shannon, you can always ask me!! it's been almost 2 years since mine was done....

my womaness like ......thats my 'women' part, and its ment to work, and making it not work would cause me to not be 'all women' kwim? I know it sounds stupid....but i dont know.
I desperately want a breast reduction, Id love to be a B...but I feel like if I do it, the next thing that will happen is Il get breast cancer and have to lose my boobs. Its like "if its not broken dont fix it" but I like the idea of 'Its not broken, but lets make it better'
I dont know..does that make any sense?

I say it varies a lot. I have a pretty high pain tolerance so I went in thinking ehh it'll be so easy. I even had plans to go to a meeting that day. I woke up in the recovery room in pain, they gave me some pain meds but I still felt the pain. Then they took me into the room where I was going to be discharged and was still in pain so they gave me vicodin & something else, then I got nauseous so they gave me for my nausea.

I came home and rested that whole day, woke up the next day thinking it was going to be better, but I was so sore! I had a hard time getting out of bed. It lasted about 2-3 days and then I felt fine. I've talked to a few women on here about their recovery and most seem to do fine, Im not sure why I was that sore. How much pain meds? They gave me tylennol with codeine and ibuprofen 800. I took the tylennol the day of surgery and the following day, after that I took the ibuprofen as needed.

I was decently sore up until today. They sent me home with 18 5/325 percocets and 800mg ibuprophen I believe it was.
First day I was very tender, had some swelling issues with fingers/hands/feet, and threw up repeatedly but I assume that was just a bad reaction to the anesthesia. By the second day I was sore, but much against my husband's wishes, up and doing dishes/laundry. My hands/feet started to swell again so I cut it out for the night. Yesterday I had some swelling again, and soreness.
Today I'm pretty damn skippy. Ready to go and accomplish smurf lol.
