I met a mom on here that was prone to fibbing. I still talk to her, but I just don't believe anything she says anymore

I think I'd be more accepting of that scenario if it was a friend I was meeting, rather than a romantic partner.

But some of these people, talked to the person for like a year or more and NEVER met them?? I just think that's crazy to go that long, for me anyway.

I should add that I did date someone I met online. he turned out to be a wuss so it only lasted a month or so. I think it's scrappy when people lie online but in all honesty, my pus on here are old so technically if someone met me now they be like "you're fat!" and I'd say "sho nuff..."

My mom did a lot of online dating after her and my dad divorced. She only had pictures of her face or good angle half body shots.
My mom was overweight for awhile, 5'3 and 220 at her highest.

She never said she was skinny. But she met a guy for dinner and the restaurant was packed so they decided to go across the street to another one. They were in separate cars. She said as she was standing there at the other restaurant waiting for him, she saw him speed off the other direction on his motorcycle. He texted her and goes "You didn't tell me you were fat".
     My mom is beautiful too, even when she was overweight.

Lying is a deal breaker for me in any kind of relationship. So no, I wouldn't be able to stay friends.

This happened to me with a girl from AOL on our "Denver Regs" group. We were all extremely close... well this one girl stole a friends identity and kept an online secret life for YEARS. She lied to so many people. I can say the whole story if people wish, but seriously, its a messed up story. People can lie so easily online its ridiculous.

I met my SO online. I have also met one of my BG friends. She came to my house for a play date with our daughters. I have had only good experiences but then I only meet with people when I have a reasonable amount of evidence that they are who they say they are.
