Running
posted 18th Jan
So... I want to be a runner. I've wanted to for a long time, but I think I've finally worked up to making it a lifestyle.
Some of this may be dumb, but please bear with me.
I'm really new to this. None of my friends or family are really into running or fitness. I have a jogging stroller, but is there anything else I need to get started? Specifically, clothing-wise? I don't have the money for running shoes at the moment, but when I do, what kind do you recommend? Any tips, or anything I should know about running with a baby? My son is 5 months old.
Thanks in advance

I always wore a bra and a cheaper, light cotton sports bra over that when I ran, it's great support. I've always ran with nikes, but people's feet are different and I'd talk to someone when you get to the shoe store. What I found that worked for me were flatter running shoes with not a lot of "heel" I guess you could say.
If you've never ran much before start jogging first. Slowly but surely you'll be able to reach long distances faster and easier. Also what can help you when you don't have the little one is to do sprints as well. When you're jogging, pick a spot ahead of you and sprint there. Afterwards do some leg stretches and continue to jog. Before you run ALWAYS stretch. Drink lots of water. The amount you drink the day before will determine your hydration the following day. That will definitely help.

I like having a headband to keep my hair off my face. If you get a thicker sports one, it will also help of you get head sweat. They are very cheap! A water bottle is also a must have!
