Everyone told her that before she even got him. Now she definitely won't get rid of him (my nephew has gotten sooooo attached to him. I wish she would have listened and not got him.

Quoting Mrs.O!:" wolf hybrids are no joke, they may be smaller but they still have wolf like tendencies..SHE has to be ... [snip!] ... submissive in order for him to get a long with other dogs...is he neutered? if not I'd get him snipped as soon as possible..."

"wolf hybrids are no joke"

We have big dogs we have a Pit bull and a Rottweiler pit mix and a Cane Corso and they are all big dogs. But I feel that Wolf mixes are not "dogs" they are Wolfs! That is something important to keep in mind, they have not been domesticated like other dogs.

They need to have a VERY strong pack leader who really understands pack leadership, otherwise things can go down hill very fast.

Any way to answer your question Bear is trying to establish dominance over your dogs, the humping is a very clear sign of that. I don't know how much you know about dogs and pack mentality but please remember that his is not just a "big dog" it is part "wolf" and they need to be trained by someone who does have a clear understanding of these things.

If you or your sister can not handle training it properly then it is her responsibility to hire someone and make sure the Wolf is properly trained and socialized.

My sister can't even afford all her bills.....we have brought up he needs obedience training.   My DH said yes when she asked him to work with him. She said she wants to rehome him because he is "bad and doesn't listen".

The vet doesn't think he is malamute or wolf.....he thinks he may be a German shepherd chow mix. I don't know and now the woman she bought him from won't answer.

she should find a wolf hybrid sanctuary, they'll know how to teach him and treat him....

I can see this going downhill for her very fast then, i'd be afraid that since he's not getting the proper training he needs that he could hurt her or her LO. But i've overly scared of wolf hybrids. Like i said Angel is an amazing dog but i'm scared of her because you can see it in her eyes that she's still got wolf instincts and wolfs are scary.

The vet doesn't think so either. The vet said probably shepherd, maybe chow (he is getting pretty fluffy).

That seems more accurate.

He doesn't look like he has any wolf in him at all, but you can tell he has chow. I'm guessing the vet is pretty accurate.

She bought him from a craigslist ad. The woman's contact info was on 3 other litters (all different breeds). He seems to have given up on trying to best my dog.

Well hopefully he doesn't try and just gets along, honestly unless i have papers in front of my proving that the dog is a full breed i don't believe it. There are so many people out there that will scam you if you don't know what you're doing.
