Carseat Blanket??

posted 18th Jan
Would something like this not be a good idea? Would it be the same as putting a jacket on while in a carseat and such?
Just wondering, saw someone pin it on pinterest and didn't know if it was safe or not.

I would think that would be safe because it goes around the straps and it looks really thin! That's a pretty good idea. I would use it. Realistically I'm not sure just because its an extra step in getting the baby ready lol

If you were to get in an accident, the car seat company is welcome to void your warranty on the seat...you shouldn't put anything between the seat and your child, on the straps or anything extra that wasn't made by the manufacturer for that seat.

watching! I was going to make one, but was unsure of the safety... it seemed okay to me, since the buckle goes under the blanket, but I'm no car seat nazi.

It looks cool but I think someone mentioned that if it messes with the straps it isn't safe and I think the warranty is void..

ANYTHING that goes between baby and seat is a major no no. You can easily just tuck a blanket over them. Unless it comes in the box with the seat it's not to be used on the seat. I believe it may even be illegal because they're not crash tested and proven safe.

It wouldn't have the same rule as a thin jacket? They look cool...

No because it attaches to the seat through the straps.

Well damn. Lol. I'll just stick to laying a blanket over them then.

That's what I'd suggest. It's not that much harder and I, personally, don't feel like risking my child for 3 extra seconds of my convenience.

I agree. What about those pod things that like bungee around the top of the carseat and unzip to take the baby out or put them in? Are those ok since they don't interfere with straps or anything?

From everything I know, and have heard, yes they are.
