Anyone know anything about plumbing? HELP!!

When I clean my son's toilet, it smells worse! Like... it's an odor coming from the toilet, I know. His bathroom smells like a gas station urinal at all times, but when I clean it, it becomes even more noticeable! What the heck?? I cleaned it the other day with toilet cleaner on the inside, then scrubbing bubbles on the rims, and then I went over it again with bleach because it still smelled. When I was finished, it still smelled. Just now, I went to clean it again and when I was finished, the entire bathroom smelled awful! Help!

Is it in the back of the toilet?

sewer gas?

What about the floor around the toilet? The wall behind it?

is there anything else in the bathroom? floor/walls? clothes can make a smell linger for a long time... get some Ozium - air neutralizer stuff, works GREAT at eliminating odors from the air. I'd also let vinegar sit in the toilet bowl for half an hour, sprinkle in baking soda (it'll foam and bubble up like a volcano...) and scrub it down with that.

otherwise get one of those drop-in tablets for the tank.

it might be "spotless" but there is still traces of smell that lingers...check out the link I posted (in my post above) for tips!

Yeah I just mopped. I think there is something wrong with the toilet itself, is what I'm saying... like the bathroom has been bleached, mopped, you name it. It's like... because I moved the toilet to clean it, or something, it smells worse. It's going to give me a panic attack!! Haha

Could they (kids) of put things (toys, etc) in the toilet without your knowing and they (toys, etc) are clogging it (toilet)?

I'm going to give advice but it's based off what I *THINK* I understand from what my husband told me once, so it might not be right, haha

Our kids bathroom smells like that sometimes and we hardly use the thing. I have to run water in the sink for a little while to fill the little whoosh thingy in the pipe. It keeps sewer smells from backing up into the bathroom, and it can end up not being full enough. So I usually run a little water in the bathroom and it goes away.

No clue if that helps, haha, and it was hardly understandable, but yeah. . .
