flu symptoms/labor sign??

Hey ladies =). I have been experiencing flu-like symptoms (nausea, queasy-ness, fatigue, ect.). . . I thought it was a bug going around because I haven't had morning sickness since the beginning of my second tri-mester so I ended uptaking some tylenol and it still didn't give me any relief. I started researching on the net about these symptoms and pregnancy, and most pages say that it is actually an onset sign of labor not being too far away. I have been experiencing other signs like frequent BM's, frequent and more intense braxton hicks, heavy pressure in my pelvic/back/and abdomen area (to the point where I can barely waddle anymore), and of course my little girl has dropped. I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced flu like symptoms right before they gave birth. Experiences are appriciated!

I felt like that the whole last month,sucked really bad!

I don't know if it is but I feel the EXACT same way you do. Guess we'll see.

I doubt yours are labor symptoms. You've still got what should be a little while to go. I got sick about two months ago with what you're describing, it ended up just being some sort of bad flu thing. Keep tally of your b.h. and speak to your dr. on Monday. He/She can better explain to you what it may be, and if it the flu, tell you what you can take.

I felt like that a few days ago...It's just pregnancy, arg those crazy hormones!

I feel the exact same - but I don't think it's labor signs for me. A week ago at my last appointment my cervix was completely closed with no thinning.  

I already spoke to my doctor about these flu-like symptoms and she advised me to take tylenol and rest as much as possible. . . it's been like this for the past week and I am just so tired of feeling like crap. I have less than a month to go and I'm just ready for me to be full term already! I'll be full term next saturday so I'm just counting down the days. . . I'll be happy if she comes anytime after that.

Oh my god, YES!! I'm going through this same exact thing right now!

I'm due next week (on the 19th) and have felt terrible flu-like symptoms for the past 3 days. Runny nose, sneezing, coughing (that won't stop!), and a bad headache.. as well as cramping and minor BH contractions as usual.

I saw my doctor yesterday and he recommended that I take tylenol to help ease my discomfort too, but it isn't working! I haven't slept in 3 night now because of this coughing ~ I'm coughing uncontrollable every couple of secondstoevery few minutes. Its the most annoying thing ever!

With all of this going on, I started researching too just to see how common it was and (like you) I found out its pretty normal. Not every woman gets it, but at least aportion of us pregnant girls do.

I'm pretty convinced that mine is pre-labor, since I also have BH contractions, cramps, swollen ankles and some diarrhea going on. But I keep wondering how I'm gonna be able to give birth to my son (within 2 weeks now!) feeling so terrible.. *sighs*

I wish you luck with your pregnancy! This is really tiring already, but keep focused on having your sweet baby in your arms.. thesedays won't last forever! <333
