Quoting The Doctor:" I grew up in a veritable zoo, so I'm a little cautious about getting overwhelmed with animals. We have one cat... but I love animals and will have more once my kids are grown."
'We Bought A Zoo', would be my dream life, LOL
I've always preferred animals to kids, because when you're young, travel a lot, it's just easier.
But it's not the same. And now I'm worried it may be TOO much, and how am I going to spread all my attention to all the animals AND a baby.
Granted, unfortunately, ratties do not live very long lives, sad as it is
Then there is the argument all my friends give me. "Once a baby comes, it's different. You won't want to give your animals as much attention, and you'll love your child more, trust me, having a kid is so much different".
I beg to differ. My cats sure as heck act like kids!
