Carbs and red meat. I'd go get him some protein shakes from GNC.
Also, dry fruits, and nuts.

I forgot to add that we already have Whey Protein shakes, he wants to wait to do them when he gets back in the gym.. We are waiting until Feb 1st to start new memberships, give him a couple of weeks to get used to the new commute and whether he is going to join a gym near home or his office.
What type of carbs? We eat a lot of pastas (been one of my biggest cravings lately) .. I've tried getting lunch meats and stuff to make sandwiches, he'll do it for a couple of days and then won't eat them. We always have dried fruit and almonds (my son loves both) but my husband won't eat them. And he has to be careful with red meats because he naturally has high cholesterol.

Let him go to the grocery store & pick out things e likes.
What you picked up for him sounds like healthy stuff, he needs junk to keep the weight on. My SO has a very high metabolism too.

He will eat junk food.. Once he gets high. And I've been pretty good at keeping goodies in the house since this baby looves sweets. Every time I go to the store I ask him what he wants, he says nothing.. So I will take pictures of info and send them to him.. My two year old is easier to feed. And we recently began going to Sams Club so he has tons of delicious options. What types of junk will your SO eat?
The only thing I have stopped buying that he loves are potato chips (replaced with nuts).. To take away the temptation for me, but if those are okay for him to munch on then I guess he could keep them in his work Truck or desk.

my husbands metabolism is rediculously high. he hates his weight more than anything in the world! idk what to do either. i feel bad bc he is so self concious about it. but he is also so freakin picky that he wont eat certain (most) things. he eats snack cakes all the time, lots of nasty junk food, but wont gain weight even that way. its horrible. he actually tried stupid "d-ball" (a type of steroid) a few years back but got mean af' so i made him stop. never wanted him to start in the first place, BUT he's an adult lol.
