Permanent birth control..

How old are you roughly & if it was difficult to persuade your DR/gyno into agreeing to a tubal/essure how did you convince them its what you want/need?

Im only 21 & know i cant have anymore kids, mentally it'd throw me off the deep end.

Im speaking to my dr on tuesday about it and am so scared of being turned away.

I cant abort (100% pro choice but its not for me) and i feel like im being pushed into a corner because society thinks you need 1 of each gender or more then 3 kids.

I think im going to cry in the DR office as well ..  

(B/C isnt working for me - been pregnant twice on the mini pill/pill & the copper IUD failed)

Honestly they will probably turn you down. Here you have to be 25 or at least 2 kids if your under 25

It was only after 3 kids with worsening pregnancies that we were able too... My BP was that bad aswell as other complications with my last that they highly recommended it :-/ my DH went though.. I hope you can find someone who will for you

I was 25 when I asked and he said he would do it I was going to get the coils put in *essure* I believe, but I freaked out, my husband agreed to vasectomy so were just going to do that, I'm completely tramatized Jade was a depo baby which ehh wasn't to bad, but 1 yr later I got preg with iud, I'm a lunatic now, I don't trust anything we use spemicidal condoms and he pulls out lol...

If I got preg again I know I couldn't abort either id just be commited to an assylum as soon as the lil 1 went to colleg

Im 21 with 2 kids.. 3 pregnancies in 3 years all on B/C.. miscarried the 1st pregnancy (was on the pill with that pregnancy)

I have a 20 month old and 3 1/2 month old.. im going to insane if we fall pregnant again.

I dont understand.. DH will be approved for a vasectomy, but its less likely they'll approve me for the essure.

I'd rather get the permanent method done to my body.. if he wants to remarry (if i died etc) i don't want to limit him.

He said he wants to do it anyway.. so we have a 'backup method' just incase.. but still.

They asked me if I wanted to get my tubes tied. I'm only 22 (21 when they asked) and this will be my second child. I was surprised they offered me that choice.

Im hoping they let me.. im trying to be responsible & i dont understand how having 3 kids will change my feelings about this (in regards to the 3 child rule or being over 25) .. if anything i'll end up depressed etc,

Im trying to stop that from happening.

LOL im the exact same!

1st pregnancy i was only 17 - very responsible with taking my b/c pill & was married, had big university dreams & didnt want kids until i was at least 27.

2nd pregnancy - freaked out, another b/c baby, was only 18 and had just moved countries with DH and didnt even have our own house/car yet (we had jobs)

3rd - with the iud, 1st baby was only 9 months old.. i balled my eyes out, i didnt want another bub for at least 4 years!

i dont want there to be a 4th time... omg, id seriously be a mess.

I'm not sure they will offer you permanent birth control. I mean you know yourself and what you want but it's just pretty uncommon because your so young.

Op can I ask why you got married so young, epecially if you didn't wan kids for a while.
Also where did you move from.. Curious caz here.

Also how is your weight loss going?

I brought it up when I was pregnant with my 2nd. I was 24 but would be 25 when I delivered and had it done. I had 2 kids (well, 1 and was pregnant with the 2nd). The Dr suggest an IUD and had me "think about it" but when I still wanted it done a month later he said he would.
