I REALLY want....

posted 18th Jan
A glass of wine. I cannot wait until I can have one again, and maybe a cigarette to go with that wine. I'm so stressed out and crabby right now I just want to smoke and drink wine. I've done so good this whole pregnancy drinking or smoking (except maybe 2.5 cigarettes total) today just sucked. I tried taking a hot shower because usually that helps calm me down but I just can't seem to shake this bitchy feeling. This is a pointless rant I just needed to tell someone...

Some might not agree with me..but you could have a glass of wine if you wanted to.

I don't drink..but a lot of people drink wine here and there during their pregnancy.

I felt like a horrible enough person after I broke down a few weeks ago and had a cigarette. I can wait its just be a really nice stress reliever right now.

I still have a glass here and there /shrug. Especially in the last month....it's not going to cause any harm.

Yeah, that's my thought. Now, drinking in the first trimester when the brain and spinal cord are still forming... not so bright.

Cigarette cravings can be intense as hell! I finally cut that out years ago, but damn it was hard. Never really felt I had physical addiction, but holy hell the psychological addiction was more than I could handle.

I still think about them from time to time. But I alway counter it with reminding mysel of how crappy it was to feel that I needed them, and how horrible it was for my health, and for my self image. That smurf smells bad!

I'm not dogging on you for slipping up!!! It can happen to anyone and there's no way a few slip ups on cigarettes could cause your baby problems.

But for you, I hope you don't go back to smoking. It is so hard to escape. Quitting through a pregnancy shows that you can quit, so you should try your hardest to not slip back into old.

Looks like you are due to have your baby any day nap if you can have that glass of wine without increasing your nicotine cravings, you're almost there! Enjoy it, you deserve it!

Yeah... I had a glass around 15w, and another one at like 22w.
I've heard occasional glasses of red wine can be good for the blood.

I feel like I've gone this long I can wait another week or so. I definitely don't plan on picking up smoking again. Just the idea of a glass of wine calmed me down a bit.

I realized how bad they smell when I stopped after about a month. My boyfriend still smokes (but outside) and when he does it like clings to his clothes and lingers on his breath and its gross. It was just a thing I did when I was drunk to start then it was a stress reliever. I definitely am excited for my birthday because I'm going to have a glass of wine no matter what, I think I deserve it. (Its also valentines day yuck) the staying away from cigarettes has been harder than the wine. I just really like wine and I miss it. In my head I know its soon, but it also feels so far away because I don't know when this baby will actually decide she wants to come out.

I really remember the smell lingering on my fingers. Seemed nearly impossible to get the stench off of me!

Well, stick with it!
Hope if you do have a smoke later it stays strictly social and doesn't get out of control. For me it's all or none. I cannot just have one. So I just stay away.

I don't really want to. I want my boyfriend to quit too. I think I'm going to be one of those moms that they can't have smoked recently if they wanna hold my baby. I'll probably make him change Every time lol.

It sucks having a smoking partner when you don't smoke. My ex would not for the life of him quit. But lots of guys do. I hope your man can! Good luck with your labor!
