usually it wouldn't be until later on, like around 18 weeks or there about, bc at 7 weeks babies would be so small you would only be able to detect one, dependin on how they are positioned. (I think...)

Well if you've already had a US and they only saw one fetus, you're probably not going to have twins. Maybe not though, one could be hiding. Do you think you are having twins or something?

Depending on how they're positioned, you can see twins fairly early on. Often, the ultrasound tech actually does take a look around to see if there's more than one fetus in the uterus, even if they don't always TELL you they're looking. It's pretty standard procedure in a first ultrasound.

If you were having twins the ultrasound tech would have told you. That's one of the things they check for at the first ultrasound so if there was only one then, there is only one now

A co-worker found out at the first ultrasound when she found out she was pregnant. I think she was about 5-7 weeks but she ended up losing one of the twins. They called it "disappearing twin syndrome". Very common I guess but people usually never find out because they usually don't have their first ultrasound until much later in the pregnancy.

They found out with me on a 6 week ultrasound. And it was incredibly obvious on both stomach and internal ultrasound.

Actually I saw it before the ultrasound tech said anything. I was just praying for a healthy heartbeat and they found one. He barely moved and I saw an extra something and the top and asked "uhhh what was THAT??!" He headed that way and I saw another very healthy heartbeat.

I found out at 7 weeks 6 days I was pregnant with my fraternal twins. I had 2 sacs, 2 placentas, 2 little beating hearts. So if there were twins in there, the tech would have saw them. UNLESS you are one of the very VERY few people that happen to have a hidden twin. But that is rare. So more than likely its just one baby in there. =)

they can see two sacs as early as 5 weeks. sounds like you're only having one.

Mine is two in one sac. Not 2 sacs.

I could see how it is possible to have a hidden twin, especially if one is growing behind the other, but I have a feeling the doctor would have found it. But if you do find a hidden twin let us know!! That's be neat!! Haha well I guess depending on if you want twins or not.

If yours are 2 in 1 sac that means they are identical!
