I'm upgrading soon. Mainly because my D3100 is a pile. And I have LONG outgrown it.

I was originally going to get a D700 but that's out of the question now with a huge bill that came up.

So now I'm debating getting either the D90 or the D7000.

I can get the D90 for less and get an extra lens. Or I can JUST get the D7000. Typically glass is more important to me but I know the body makes a difference too. Basically, my biggest beef is that I don't like going through 3213513546 menus to change one freaking setting like I have to on the 3100. Also it's smurffy that I can't shoot higher than 400 ISO.

So why should I choose one over the other?

Also we're trying to keep this whole deally under $1200.

I shoot canon so I'm not too familiar with the higher model nikons (had a D40 back in 09') but after looking at snapsort I'd go with the D7000. After looking at that the only appealing thing I see in the D90 is the slightly larger sensor, price, and getting another lens.

Do you have a good variety of lenses? If so then my vote definitely goes to the D7000.

Ohh that price would make me switch back to Nikon when I upgrade my body if I didn't have to buy all new lenses lol.

I personally shoot with and prefer the D90 due to the size. A D7000 is fabulous though with more storage space and quality is slightly better from the D90. For the price though, the D90 is one amazing camera.

Aw that's not too bad both are pretty great lenses. I guess it all comes down to what's most important in what you're looking for.

I am going from from the camera you have now to the D7000.
I have a friend with the D90 and I feel i'd outgrow that fast it's pretty similar to the D3100 IMO.

Well I need a new body. No questions asked. But I feel like lenses are most important.

I have the D90 for my Public Affairs job. I like it but I really don't get to use it that much. So I can't really base it from that. I mean it's nicer than my 3100 for sure but I'm debating if it's worth it.

The D7000 is also magnesium alloy body and weather sealed. The D90 is not.
The D7000 outshines the D90 in many ways
