It's not. I was thinking it was gonna be more like a $300 jump which isn't quite feasible.

This is a very good point and why I have yet to upgrade. I have no complaints from my clients currently, so I'm sticking with my current camera and slowly saving for the higher quality. Slowly but surely.

Ahh makes sense. I wonder how much the payments would be. I'd have to do it through DH though since I'm a SAHM.

I'm fine with getting the D7000 and getting a D700 later. I don't forsee having the cash anywhere in the future to get the 700 and the 7000 will make a good back up for when that DOES happen. I just can't deal with the 3100 anymore. I outgrew that thing within 6 months of buying it.

There are no payments, lol.
You can pay as much as you want on it up until the maturity date.
Or you can pay it all at once when you hit that date.

Plus I run a business with it so.... Blah. Money sucks. Hahaha

I have no doubt in my mind that you'll absolutely love the D7000. Compared to your D3100 it is a beast of a camera. I love it.
Oh, and BBF on it is AWESOME ;)

Yeah they do. I used DH's info haha. Well, with his permission of course, I'm not scamming anyone.
He's got awesome credit.

Understandable. As I stated, the D7000 certainly has better features. I just prefer in some shoots a D90 for the size of it. I like the smaller body in some occasions, etc.

BBF is pretty awesome (thankfully my camera has this lol). Yup OP, I vote for the D7000, plus it's newer.   But that's just me and I just like having newer electronics/technology.

I BBF on my 3100 and it's much better but I don't know. I need more play room here. I hate my smurffy ABSOLUTE MAX of 400ISO. And I wish I didn't have to go through so many menus to change basic settings. I just want to click one button to set the WB. I want one dial to change the aperture.
