Oh smurf I forgot about that one when I was researching before!! Yeah that's an important one too. Well assuming it's still $750 I think that's what I'm gonna go for.

I know how you feel! I was in the same position. I have a Canon T3 and I was debating on buying my 35mm f/2 or waiting until tax returns and upgrading my body. I chose the lens.

I'd love the 7D but at the price it's at right now I might as well go full frame so for now I'm opting for the 60D, I just have to save. Thanks to the previous poster I had to go check out Adorama and see if they had any deals on Canon bodies and the 60D refurbished is $670. I wish I would have waited on the lens now lol. I feel so limited with an entry level body.

We can't. DH's credit is literally like 3 points over what we need to buy a house and he doesn't want any inquiries on his credit until we get pre approved in March! Lol.

That's what purchasing weather protectors are for. ;) Getting the body for $600 from a friend, barely used, I couldn't beat the price.

$100 more for a much better camera isn't that bad of a jump.
IMO.

How does that usually work? Like how much do you have to pay up front usually or does it just depend?

Hold off until you can upgrade to the D700... or better. You'll have buyer's remorse if you don't. The nifty fifty should sustain you in the glass department for awhile. Then you can focus saving money towards better, but at least you'll have a great body that you're not going to want to replace right away. You'll find those two options you mentioned sub-par to your expectations and you'll end up shelling out more money.

You don't pay anything.
It's like a temporary line of credit. Right now Adorama and Bill Me Later have a no interest or payments for 6 months deally thing going on. They have it a lot actually.
Any purchase over $250, no interest or payments for 6 months if paid in full by the promotion end date. I've gotten 2 statements and haven't been charged any interest, so I can definitely recommend it

Me too. It's so amateurized (not that that's a word) and limiting. It's a pain in the ass.

The D7000 has been out since early 2010.
I'm just saying, in OPs position, the D7000 is a much better choice.
