The toothfairy.

How much do you give when your kids lose a tooth? My son lost his first tooth, I was thinking a $2 coin since that's the highest amount before it goes to notes/bills whatever you call them?
Just wondering what the going rate is these days for a tooth lol

i dont know the difference in money in NZ and in the USA but I only give 1 dollar to my kids per tooth. (doesnt matter which tooth it is) I think when I was a kid I got 50 cents (2 quarters) per tooth

we give 5. Or she writes a note for a happy meal and cookies

My mom always gave me stuff from avon... like the toothfairys part time job was to get rid of extra crap  

Two dollars isnt bad....give him five if you are feeling like a baller.

my in-laws always give my daughter $20 whether I give her money or not. One year I gave her a $10 bill and they still sent $20. Grrr. I loved her face though when I left 4 quarters she was more excited for those than she was to get the $20 for her tooth.

I am giving my kids 50 cents for each regular tooth and a dollar for molars. My oldest(6 1/2 years old) is about to lose his third tooth right now.

$1 normally.Although when my daughter lost her 1st tooth she woke up before anyone and found all my husband's change on the table he had dumped out when he got home from work and said "look what the tooth fairy gave me!" It was like $10 worth lol.

Omg I LOLd!

When I was a child we would get $7 a tooth. But now my younger sibblings get $10 a tooth...those little smurfs.


But really, I'm probably going to give my son $5.00 all in pennies and a coupon for any vegetable from Wal Mart

$7 is an odd amount haha. And a coupon for any veggie has me laughing for some reason  

I think I got $10 a tooth as a kid, I will probably do the same for DD along with some tooth related (a new tooth brush, new toothpaste, mouthwash, etc).

My uncle did something like that!!!

He worked nights, I remember my aunt called him while he was at work told him to get change or whatever and get the tooth...
Next morning she came out running that toothfairy gave her a 20.00 My lil cousin was screaming she wanted to got to toys r us and buy everything...
My aunt looked at my uncle like she wanted to choke him he was all searching his pockets and found the money he was suposed to give her

*He said it was dark and she started moving around so he panicked lol

lol that's funny. I'm not sure why she thought this was for her when it was on the table I guess she saw change and thought ooh!

All I wanted was some dollars!! What the fawk was I going to do with sweet honesty perfume as a 7 year old???
Ice cream truck didn't take that and niether did the soda machine at school...
I needed my fix  

Now when I talk to her about it she pulls the *single mom card*

"No 1 feels bad for u woman u could have afforded to give me 2 bucks if u weren't spending everything on ur avon addiction"

Sorry this is a sore spot for me if u couldn't tell  

I think I'll only do a dollar or so. Two dollar coins aren't a bad idea. I think I'd only do more money if it was going into savings. But my son gets a lot of treats and things otherwise and he's an only kid so he's pretty spoiled anyway so I don't feel like he needs anything more than that. Plus I am really cheap haha.
