She was healthy, she was small bc the pre-e caused IUGR.
It was an awful experience for me, I had to be on magnesium for 24 hours after and it took several weeks for my liver function to return to normal.

I was induced early because of high blood pressure with my first child.

I had a few stretch and sweeps at 37 weeks, 3 days (on a Friday) and was to be induced on the Monday. My cervix was closed, long and posterior, not at all ready for labour.

I arrived at the hospital and had a lot of testing. My cervix was still closed (maybe half a cm) and not effaced. I had the first Cervidil inserted at 2 pm. After a lot more testing and monitoring, I was able to go home. We went shopping first.

The next day (Tuesaday), we arrived at the hospital at 7 am. The cervidil is supposed to be in for 12 hours, but none of us wanted to go back to the hospital for 2 am  . I had that one removed and the next one inserted, more testing and then sent home again.

I started having contractions around 4 (this is a guess, they came on so gradually and gently, I really don't remember the first of them). We went out to Subway for supper and then back to the hospital for 7pm. The cervidil fell out around 6.

I was having contractions and had more testing (blood, urine and monitoring the baby/contractions). I was given the choice to go home or stay and start the artificial oxytocin. After much deliberation, we decided to go home.

After having strong contractions every 10 - 20 minutes through the night, we met back at the hospital for 10:30 am. I was checked to be 3 cm dilated, stretchable to 5 cm. The pitocin was started around 11am, as well as the antibiotics (GBS+). I laboured on an exercise ball while watching a Blue Planet for a while. Food came to my room at lunch and I tried to eat a bit but I just wasn't hungry. My doula got the tub set up for me and I laboured there until it was time to push (I had a wireless, waterproof monitor on). I would have liked to stay in the tub to push but I couldn't communicate that, induced labour is intense, especially during transition. So I pushed for about an hour and my daughter was born at 3pm. I only had one round of antibiotics so we stayed overnight so she could be observed.

It was a wonderful experience! I hope your induction goes as smoothly and easily as mine did  .
