No, I wouldn't replace just regular white sugar. I'd replace it with a mix of white sugar with molasses. Which is what brown sugar is.

If you don't have molasses, I've used honey before. Worked okay.

I wouldn't unless you have molasses to mix in. It will give it a completely different taste though if you just use white sugar.

I was thinking it wouldn't matter, because i believe it is to just give it a sweet element. It is being mixed with chili powder for a coating for the bacon wrapped chicken?...

What I mean is it won't be mixed in with anything, like a batter or anything.

The brown sugar has a sweetness that adds a little more depth to the flavor than white sugar. You could do it, but it might not taste quite as good.

Eh, it's just bacon wrapped chicken. I think I will give it a try, lol. I don't have anything to make the brown sugar with, and am wanting to keep it a quick, simple meal. I will keep in mind though that I can make it next time if I have the ingredients.
