Out of Ideas

posted 17th Jan
I spend all my extra money on LO and over the last week I can't seem to find anything else to buy her. I hope I am not over looking something that she may need.

I know she still needs a pack-n-play and high chair, but SO and I were waiting to purchase those items when I return to work. We have already stocked up on diapers and wipes. We have newborn, like 400 size 1, and 400 size 2 diapers. Plus we have many cases of wipes plus individual containers of wipes. We have two diaper bags loaded down with stuff already, both have the same items in them. I have looked at many list and find I have everything on them already, but yet I feel I am forgetting something.

Was there something important you over looked getting before you had your LO?

Initially we didn't have a swing, but our daughter wouldn't sleep in her crib or bassinet and co-sleeping wasn't an option, so we bought a swing. It was a lifesaver! Are you planning on breastfeeding or bottle feeding?

You probably have too much, i only bought a crib, swing, boppy, bouncer, diapers, wipes, a few clothes of each size ( i buy as she grows so i don't overspend). The highchair IMO can wait until it's needed. Keep the receipts for the diapers because she might outgrow them, why exactly do you have 2 diaper bags? I also bought a set of 2 extra crib sheets, a pack of receiving blankets, paci and diaper rash cream.

I've always been overboard with the things I've received and bought. Chances are you will find yourself in the same situation. The onu thing I'd ever say I was leaking for was clothing for the one an up stage. But that's a year away for you!

I already have $1300 saved up for her. But it is money we plan on saving for her until she is 18.

She has a swing, bouncer, walker, and jumperoo already.

I am planning on breastfeeding, however I do have a supply of bottles and a few cans of formula just in case. I believe I have all the items for breastfeeding according to what the WIC office said.

Wow. I think you have more than enough, lol. Do you have nursing pads and lanolin cream? Breastmilk storage bags?

I have two diaper bags, one for me and one for SO. Just because  . I bought a Mickey Mouse one and thought it was too small after it arrived (order online) so SO bought me another bigger one that was on sale at a local store. And I plan on giving my extra diapers to a program called Help Me Grow which will give them to mothers in need.

Yes to all your questions. I should have programs like WIC and Help Me Grow on speed dial as much as I call them for info.

Oh ok, well if i were you i'd stop buying. You'll be surprised at how much you really won't use. I did the exact same thing with my first and i wasted SO much money because of it. This time around i bought what would actually be used and only spent like $800-1k
