Breastfeeding and formula

posted 17th Jan
My daughter is almost 8 months okd and still wakes up 2-3 times a night to eat. Ive tried everything. I was wondering if u ladies think it would be a bad idea to give her a bottle of formula for bedtime to fill up her belly more. That's if she will even suck on a bottle   and if its ok to try, what kind should I get?

No. It's very normal for babies to still be waking up during the night at 8 months.

DS was well over a year when he stopped waking up at night for feedings. He was EBF and we co-slept so that might have made a difference.

I co sleep too. But hubbys wanting me to transition her to her bed and then the dr said she needs to sleep thru the night. I never heard it before but I was willing to try. I really don't mind her waking up at night.

Can you pump and give her a bottle of breast milk if you don't want to give her formula?
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with giving her some formula if you don't think she's getting enough and you think it'll help her sleep.
I breast and bottle feed my 4 week old with no issues. She eats what she wants and the last couple nights has been sleeping 5-6 hours at a time.
Try Tommee Tippy bottles or the Babies R US off brand of them.. I found them to be the best.
Good luck!
