hair help?

posted 17th Jan
The bottom inch or so of my hair in the front is totally dead. I want to curl my hair tonight, but last time I tried the bottom of my hair became a big poofy frizzy mess when I combed them out. Any tips?

Do you have anything for your hair to get rid of frizz? What I am referring to is usually an oil base that you put in your hair when it is damp.

That should help to keep the frizz down.

Yes, it didn't help. The curl was nice and bouncy until I started combing it out, then it poufed.

It's always good to use a leave in conditioner or anti-heat serum before using any kind if hot tools on your hair, so your hair won't be damaged even more. Usually anything like I mentioned above would be good for frizz, but if that doesn't work for the frizz alone, try using Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell, it's amazing!

Don't comb it, pull it apart carefully with your fingers.

Wow. I thought that would have worked too.

Is your Avi current? As in, is your hair still that short?

When my hair was long I had the same problem with the ends on my hair. I got to the point where I would straighten it, and then curl it. And then to keep my hair from getting too poofy again, I would put it half up and half down in a hair clip.

I don't use heat on my hair to curl it, I leave in foam curlers. And I use It's a 10 leave in conditioner no matter what I'm doing to my hair, and Not Your Mother's Beat the Heat when I straighten.

Super Skinny Serum contains sulfates which will fade my hair color. I'm also not really a big fan of Paul Mitchell anyway, their products leave my hair oily.

Yeah, it's 2 weeks ago.

I have an a-line bob too so it's awkward, the back is fine but shorter than the front, and I don't want a one-length bob so I can't cut the dead hair off until it grows a little more.

I don't like to use heat on my hair because 1, pink dye is already a bitch about fading, and 2, I don't want to damage my hair any more than it is.

Understandable. A friend of mine use to have an A-Bob cut. I am trying to remember how she styled it. I want to say she usually just curled it under around her face.

What about doing what someone else suggested and gently using your fingers instead of a comb ? That might work.

I wish my hair got that curly when I use curlers!

Could you maybe get away with NOT using your comb or fingers, and maybe just fling your hair around?

I really doubt it   Either I use the products and the curl holds REALLY well, or I don't and they fall completely flat within an hr >.<

mfffff I'll probably just have to give up on curls until I can cut my hair.

Last attempt at help. (It's my last idea).

What if, you used your products to keep your curls intact. BUT, only use your curlers to curl your hair under. (So don't wrap them all the way). Then, when you take the curlers out, your hair will have a nice easy curl outlining your face, but won't be too curly to where you should have to worry about frizz if you comb it. (Or run your fingers through it).

ETA: By the way, I LOVE that color of pink in your hair in the picture on your profile.

Idk what you mean, about how to curl it?

But I guess it doesn't matter anyway because my sil just called to un-invite me out tonight because two of the girls in the group don't want to party with a preggo. Cause apparently you can't have fun if you're not being a drunk skank.
