I am hoping that you will take this angry reaction of theirs into consideration and really try to pacify them even if you are hating every second of it so that you might protect yourself from any possible detrimental situations.

Um, no? I'll tell them exactly how it is, the cold truth and facts of the situation. I don't see how honesty will damage this situation in any way, and if it would, then me sucking up to them sure won't help. Your opinions and advice really aren't appreciated or wanted, here. Also, based on your responses to my heartfelt advice, I'm done here. Your reaction to me is ridiculous.

I don't understand how this could cause you to lose custody of your child. The person who is upset by having their van lose its tags is not the father. It's (if I'm understanding right) your BD's other daughter's step father. I guess I'm confused.

Don't feel bad for telling them to file for child support. You don't want to lose your daughter's insurance. It's not your fault that THEY (as in BD's daughter's mom and step father) have your BD's name on their title of their van.

Majority of custody battles arise because of issues with child support and or anger resentment and jealousy towards an ex spouse.

Judges look very poorly on cases that arise based on anything but the father's want to see the child. The fact that he has shown no interest in her until now will weigh heavily in that case. I'm sorry you're going through a rough situation, but you do not know me, this family, or him and his family. Therefore you do not know everything. Stop treating me like a child and acting as thought women have to submit themselves just for the sake of looking good.

I will not win any sort of custody cases based on how I treat other people. If they do arise, it will be based on how I treat my daughter. I don't know why you seem to think butt-kissing will get you out of a situation like that, but it's sad and emotionally unhealthy that you do.
