High Risk

posted 17th Jan
Who is high risk? I am high risk because I have mult. medical problems but also because I have a uterus didephys. which means I have two uterus's, two uterus linings, two cervix's, and a split vagina by a septum. I won't be able to have a natural birth, c-section. I constantly have infections, I have a vitamin D defincy, which I had before pregnancy. I have kidney stones all throughout this pregnancy and I have had kidney stones since I was 13.

I haven't officially been labeled as 'high risk', but I've had multiple miscarriages due to a clotting disorder and I also have MTHFR.

I was high risk. Because, I have type 1 diabetes, asthma, hypothyroidism, and acid reflux. And depression but that isn't why I was high risk lol. I have infections a lot.

Quoting Cheyenne [21weeks]:" What is MTHFR?"

It's a gene mutation that doesn't allow the body to properly absorb folic acid. It has been linked to recurrent pregnancy loss, and it also increases the likelihood of clot formation.

Um, I have to ask... so, you basically have two vaginas? What's that like?

Well, two periods a month. and each uterus has a period at the same time. I can't have a natural birth. I am more likely to carry twins. I can't use tampons because I would have to use two of them. I have extra pain because of it. My cramps are way worse, no menstrual medicine will work for it only pain medicine. I have a higher risk of miscarriage, they can't fix it. and I don't know, it seems normal to me. because i have never had one set of everything , always had two. I really don't know how to explain what it is like, if I have sex I have to be more careful because my vagina walls are more sensitive and I have almost bleed to death when I got raped at 13, then I almost bleed to death again at 14 because I got raped by a second guy. I have been raped three times, been molested more than five times, and sexually harassed by more than 10 guys.

I am also high risk! I am diabetic, insulin dependent, I have a thyroid problem also. I have had miscarriages, and a premature labor and it didn't turn out very well. I will have to deliver our baby girl between my 37-39 week marks but as of right now we are playing it by ear! I have two different obgyns, a high risk doctor, and a Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor.
